Esta universidad textil -la única de este sector en China central y occidental- nació el año 2000 gracias a la fusión de tres universidades preexistentes, a petición de la industria textil de esta parte de China.
Cuenta con tres Colleges dedicados a la ingeniería de materiales textiles, a la tecnología de la confección y al arte y al diseño. En 2013 creó una escuela dedicada a los textiles avanzados. Desarrolla proyectos e imparte cursos de tecnología e ingeniería textil, ingeniería de materiales no-tejidos, diseño e ingeniería de prendas, diseño y comercio de la confección, diseño artístico de las prendas, estilismo de moda, diseño de prendas funcionales, tejeduría y tintura, diseño de textiles para decoración, etc.
This University -the only one with this specialization in Central and Western China- was born in 2000 thanks to the merging of three existing universities, at the request of the textile industry in this part of China.
It has three colleges devoted to textile engineering, clothing technology and art & design. All three develop projects and provide courses in textile technology and engineering, nonwovens, clothing design and engineering, clothing trade, artistic garment design, fashion styling, functional garments design, weaving and dyeing, hometextiles design, etc. In 2013 it stablished a new school devoted to advances textiles.
