IED Madrid hosted three fashion shows during the MBFWMadrid
The IED Madrid hosted the parades of Moisés Nieto, Andrés Zurru and REPARTOstudio in the framework of the recent spring / summer 2020 edition of the MBFWM.
12.07.2019 In the latest edition of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Madrid (MBFWM) the spaces of the Palacio de Altamira, headquarters of the Istituto Europeo di Design in Madrid (IED Madrid), were transformed into a catwalk for Spanish talent. There the Andrés Zurru and REPARTOstudio collections were presented. In addition, designer Moisés Nieto chose the spaces of the Larra Street headquarters of the IED Madrid to present his proposals for the spring-summer 2020 collection exclusively.
REPARTOstudio
REPARTOstudio, fashion brand founded by students of the IED Madrid Ana Viglione and Margil Peña, unites the Mexican and Spanish talent. It proposes an emotional view of fashion, creating characters inspired by the Millennials experiences of its founders. The firm presented a collection that aims to empathize with its audience through topics such as anxiety, vices or insecurities.
The young designers have launched into the adventure of fashion with their first collection entitled Episode: Pilot. Unique pieces, agender and experimental style with which we will meet their new characters.
Andrés Zurru
The designs of Andrés Zurru, also trained in fashion design at the IED Madrid, got on the catwalk of the MBFWM for the second time. In 2018 it was selected as one of the promises of Spanish fashion debuting with its first collection on the Samsung EGO catwalk, and this year it has reaffirmed its name with this second fashion show.
His new Aberrance collection succeeds the previous one with designs that draw on art and photography. Andrés declared that he finds inspiration for his designs «in the stark, hard and realistic aesthetics of memories, the raw details that unite us, the shared experiences, the judgmental glances, the dictatorial laughter and the gratuitous jokes, of fear in deep». With the military uniform as a fetish, Andrés creates a new narrative with which to imagine, through his creations, a masculinity alternative to the one currently erected.
Moisés Nieto
The designer Moisés Nieto, a former student of IED Madrid and already a well-known name in Spanish fashion, paraded at the headquarters of Calle Larra of IED Madrid. There he presented his exclusive spring-summer 2020 collection.
