This is a lifestyle and design event that will be held on September 7 and 8 at the ME Sitges Terramar hotel.
|03.09.2019| Located on the seafront of Sitges, the ME Sitges Terramar hotel hosts the third edition of La Mercantil del Diseño on the weekend of September 7 and 8, a lifestyle event with design, art, fashion, crafts and live music.
African art
The Sitgetana OOA Gallery art gallery will present an exhibition of the works of four African artists. These are Sadikou Oukpedjo (Togo), Médéric Turay (Ivory Coast), Saadio (Senegal) and Gnohitié (Ivory Coast). The exhibition aims to offer visibility to the creativity and diversity of Africa.
Music and photography
In this edition of the Market you can also discover and acquire the works of the German photographer based in Barcelona Christiane von Enzberg with her artistic vision of summer scenes.
The sessions of Classic Album Sundays, on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. and Sunday at 7:00 p.m., will be in charge of adding the most musical part to the weekend with the listeners of great albums of artists pointed to contemporary music.
Technology and home
Throughout the weekend in La Mercantil, special technology and home accessories. There you can find a wonderful selection of brands such as the fun puffs of Borondo and the outdoor furniture of iSiMAR.
Jordi Ferrer, meanwhile, will delight us with his unique pieces of marquetry that combine the use of new technologies with extensive experience in the world of wood.

Shibari
On this occasion, the presence of several artists related to the Shibari (the art of being tied erotically) stands out. Through their proposals remember that Sitges has been a liberated city pioneer, the cradle of artists and avant-garde. Manel Mármol Alias, author of the photographic exhibition «Shibari in Infrared», explains that his project is born to fuse the passion for the Shibari and move it to the landscape space. The result is an aesthetic that aims to get rid of wraps in order to free the mind of social and cultural limitations.
Following the art of Shibari, a workshop and a performance will be held. They will take place on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. and at 5:00 p.m. by Noshibari. Within the framework of this event, the secrets of this art will be shown, influencing the artistic and emotional aspects.
