The aim of the contest organized by SIMOF 2020 is to promote and disseminate the creations of young Andalusian designers. The registration deadline ends on November 15, 2019.

| 13.11.2019 | The International Flamenco Fashion Show 2020 (SIMOF), announces a new edition of the contest for young designers of flamenco dresses, with the aim of promoting and disseminating the creations of young designers from Andalusia. This contest has served as a starting point in the professional career of great promises of design such as Juana Martín, Sergio Vidal, Pedro Béjar, Antonio Gutiérrez or Cristina García, among others.

Requirements

Candidates who present must meet the following requirements: Be aged between 16 and 30 years; Born and / or residents in Spain; Present an unpublished work that has not been presented or awarded in any other contest or fashion show; A maximum of four members can be presented on a collective basis, all of them between the ages of 16 and 30; and, finally, the applicants cannot exercise or have professionally exercised the activity of design, clothing and/or fashion marketing under a personal trademark.

Competition rules

You can consult the complete rules and download the necessary documentation to participate in the SIMOF 2020 website: www.simof.es. Once the registration form is filled out, accompanied by the documentation, it will be delivered to the headquarters of the Double Erre Fashion and Communication Agency in Calle Virgen del Águila nº 5, local. 41011 Seville. The delivery period will end on November 15, 2019.

Candidates will be subject to the assessment of a commission of experts that will take into account the concept, design, preparation and originality of the sketches. In the first phase, 15 semi-finalist designers will be selected, who must present a ready-made dress to move on to the next phase. In this, the finalists will be chosen, between 8 and 10 participants, who will present their integrated collection on January 30, 2020, within the framework of the XXVI edition of the International Flamenco Fashion Show, SIMOF 2020.

The award

The prize for the young designer of flamenco dresses SIMOF 2020 will consist of: The participation of the winner for free in the EGO-SIMOF 2020 catwalk; The automatic selection of the winner to participate in the SIMOF 2021 catwalk; The amount of 1,000 euros in fabrics from the company Flamentex, SIMOF sponsoring company. In addition to other prizes pending confirmation.
