The trajectory of Nieto, former IED student, includes numerous international awards such as My Own Show, L´Oreal Award, Who’s On Next as well as the National Fashion Award.

| 18.09.2019 | IED Madrid has just appointed the new director of its Fashion School. The person in charge of assuming this position will be the young but already multi-awarded designer Moisés Nieto. Born in Jaén in 1984 and licensed by IED in 2010, he launched his own firm that year, transferring his final thesis to the market.

On his new position, the designer has affirmed: «IED Madrid is part of one of the most important creative networks in the world. A school in constant change where students of the past and those of the present have marked and set design trends and disseminate them through the increasingly extensive network of FDI. The creative energy that flows in the classrooms is the result of the union of the new generations, the professors, a link with the world of work and the innovative DNA of an institution that has trained the best designers for more than half a century. This new challenge in my life is the result of the belief that arts and design have a great transformative power in the world that finds its seed in the classroom».

The secrets of Moisés Nieto

Audacity, determination, art and technology are the keys of Nieto, who plays with referents of deep Spain, particularly his native Andalusia. Recognizes as referring to García Lorca, Velázquez or David Lynch. It is firmly committed to sustainability in the production of its garments and will lead the upcycling movement in its collections. In addition, his presentations have become one of the most anticipated moments of the official MBFWM calendar where he turns the classic format of the parade into an experience beyond the fashion show.
