Baúl Weekend will convert second-hand clothes and accessories to help the homeless under the motto «what you don’t wear is what suits you best».

| 24.10.2019 | Baúl Weekend will celebrate its fourth edition in the Corella Space (Diputación 248, corner Rambla Catalunya) on November 16 and 17. It will do so with the objective of raising money for the NGO Arrels Fundació, which will allocate it to enable accommodation nights for homeless people in Barcelona.

Baúl Weekend is a unique humanitarian initiative in Spain that offers the possibility of being supportive in an easy and original way. Some donate those exclusive garments and accessories that they no longer use, allowing others to acquire them at very affordable prices. All turned into a different fashion pop up experience where the full benefits go to a different altruistic cause every year.

Previous editions

In the previous three editions, Baúl Weekend has raised 170,000 euros that have been fully donated to Save the Children, Proactiva Open Arms and Sonrisas de Bombay. In this fourth edition, the full benefits will go to the Arrels Foundation; favor of the homeless in Barcelona. Under the event, second-hand clothing and accessories from luxury and premium brands can be purchased. Among them: Chanel, Prada or Isabel Marant at Zara prices, helping with these purchases to give shelter to the homeless.

For this edition, Baúl Weekend has the special collaboration of relevant people in the world of fashion and society. Among them Vanesa Lorenzo, Carles Puyol, Juan Avellaneda, Martina Klein, Álex Corretja, Miranda Makaroff and Patry Jordán. All of them will yield garments and accessories that they no longer use to be sold under their name, and / or help communicate this event on their social networks.

The origins of Baúl Weekend

It was founded in 2015 by five women entrepreneurs linked to the world of fashion and communication. They were Emma Pueyo, Eva Tomás, Cristina Cerqueda, Marta Domingo and Helena Perelló, who, impacted by the Syrian exodus and its devastating humanitarian consequences, decided to create a way to donate money that was, at the same time, a memorable experience.
